Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 23rd as the Indiana State University Chorale and Wind Orchestra present their final concert of the spring semester. Entitled “Testament of Freedom: America at 250”, the concert will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our country. The concert will also highlight the School of Music Faculty Brass Quintet.

The Wind Orchestra will start the evening with a world premiere of a newly composed work by New York composer, Anthony Barfield. Next, they will perform an arrangement of Leonard Bernstein Mass, featuring the ISU Faculty Brass Quintet. Mass connects the 400-year-old Roman Catholic church tradition with theatrical elements like you’d find in Bernstein's West Side Story or Candide.

Next, the University Chorale and Wind Orchestra will join forces to perform Randall Thompson's iconic Testament of Freedom. The evening will conclude with a combined performance of the United States Armed Forces Melody to recognize the sacrifice of our military, with the tunes of each branch.

The concert is free and open to the public. Join us as we highlight the achievements of our School of Music students!

Join the ISU Jazz Band and Concert Band on Thursday as they present their Spring Showcase! The performance will begin at 7:30pm in Tilson Auditorium and will include a fun mix traditional and contemporary works for Concert and Jazz Ensembles.

The concert is free and open to the public.
