Our final Summer 2026 Honors College graduate to highlight is Alexis Bussey! Alexis completed her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology.

She writes, "My two years at A&M have been exceptionally challenging, but it also helped me with my personal growth as well. Not only that, but the relationships that I have made with friends, co-workers, and colleagues have helped me during my strenuous journey.

As a Kinesiology major, I was able to go out of my comfort zone and gain so many experiences that I knew were going to help shape my future career.

Being a part of the Honors College has also helped me to go out of my comfort zone and see how far I can push my limits academically. I am extremely proud of what I have been able to accomplish over two years and I am excited for my next academic chapter.

With that being said, I plan to continue my education at Texas A&M University - Texarkana by being in the first cohort of the Doctoral of Physical Therapy program."

Our next Summer 2026 Honors College graduate to highlight is Reese Townsend! Reese graduated with her Bachelor's of Business Administration.

She writes, "My two years at Texas A&M University-Texarkana have been an important part of my college journey and personal growth. As a Business Administration major and a member of the Honors College, I have had the opportunity to challenge myself academically while gaining valuable experiences that have prepared me for my future career.

Being part of the Honors College has pushed me to work harder, think critically, and make the most of my time at A&M-Texarkana. I am proud of everything I have accomplished over the past two years and grateful for the people and experiences that have helped me along the way.

This fall, I plan to continue my education by beginning my master’s degree, and I am excited to see where this next chapter takes me."

Our next Summer 2026 Honors College graduate to highlight is Grace Moore! Grace graduated with her Bachelor's degree in English.

She writes, "I am proud to graduate from Texas A&M University-Texarkana with a Bachelor of Science in English and as a member of the Honors College. My time at Texas A&M University-Texarkana has given me opportunities that helped me grow into the person I am today. The Honors College specifically gave me the tools and support to push myself beyond the classroom and approach my education with greater curiosity. As a first generation college student, there were many moments where I felt overwhelmed, but the encouragement I received reminded me that I was more than capable of succeeding. I had the pleasure of working on several honors projects throughout my degree, including completing a research project on archival recovery. More than anything, TAMUT and the Honors College gave me a meaningful community of people who encouraged me to reach beyond my assumed limits and take on new challenges.

After graduation, I plan to take a gap year to work at The REACH Center, a nonprofit providing childcare to children with disabilities, while preparing to apply to Speech-Language Pathology programs. I am incredibly grateful for the people, memories, opportunities, and lifelong friendships that made my time at TAMUT so significant."

Texas A&M University Texarkana unveiled a complete rebrand this morning — new logos, new word marks, new fonts, and a refreshed color scheme for both the university and Eagles athletics.

One more change you might not notice at first: the dash is gone. It's officially "A&M Texarkana" now, not "A&M-Texarkana."

The reveal caps a year-long process that included input from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. President Dr. Ross Alexander says it's "time for this university to have a strong identity of its own" while keeping its ties to the A&M System.

The timing lines up with a big stretch for the university — new facilities under construction and the athletic program's move to NCAA Division II.
