💜 More than a walk. A stand for safety, healing, and hope.
Our Sorors showed up in sisterhood and solidarity for the Domestic Violence Awareness Walk, standing with survivors, honoring lives lost, and bringing awareness to an issue that hits close to home for far too many families.
The statistics remind us why this work matters.
💜 In 2023, the Bronx recorded 7,980 victims of intimate partner violence in reported offense categories.
💜 According to the CDC, 53.6% of non-Hispanic Black women and 42.1% of Hispanic women nationwide have experienced physical violence, contact sexual violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime.
For Black and Brown women in our community, these numbers are especially meaningful. Behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard.
For some, this cause is deeply personal. For all of us, it is a call to action.
As Finer Women, our commitment to service extends beyond raising awareness. It means advocating for safer communities, supporting survivors, and reminding those experiencing abuse that they are not alone.
To every survivor: We see you. We believe you. You deserve safety, dignity, and peace. 💙🤍
