What does sustainability look like? There is no one true form! The fashion industry produces some of the LARGEST amounts of waste in the world- polluting our oceans and spoiling our land.

One of our biggest aspects of the pop-up shop is to bring fashion and sustainability together. We want to engage everyone in stylist, personal, and most importantly- sustainable clothing.

Here is a collection of our members in their favorite thrifted, second hand, or upcycled looks! Do you have a favorite thrifted piece? Share it with us!

We had so much fun styling with the ! Some of our members worked with Cardinal Closet on Tuesday to provide BSU students with the perfect outfit for the upcoming career fair!

Last but certainly not least, Bre Cowan!!
"I graduated with a double major in fashion merchandising & apparel design with a minor in marketing. I will be living with my husband who is a marine in California & I am planning to start work in late July-August! I have a wedding & a vacation before hand & I’d also like to get used to the Cali life before working right away! I will also be focusing on making bags, you can follow for more details. My sights for work are on Free People or Nordstrom 🤩 But I also love small businesses & have a high appreciation for them so that interests me as well. So stay tuned 😉"

Our next senior to honor is Katrina Witt!

She majored in Fashion Merchandising with minors in Marketing and French. Katrina joined FMA as a freshman during Fall 2018.
She served as secretary for FMA from Fall 2020-Spring 2022.

Favorite memory: "Planning and helping out for the pop up shop! I loved getting to hang out and get to know more FMA members during shifts!"

After graduation, she will be moving to the NYC area in June! She will start a position as an Ecommerce & Marketing Specialist for Grand Central Watch!

Our next senior is Brandi Osthimer!

Brandi majored in fashion merchandising with minors in marketing and entrepreneurial management. She joined FMA as a freshman (2018) and held various positions (correspondence chair, Vice President and president)!

"I am so lucky to have met so many amazing people in the fashion major and will forever be grateful for my experience at Ball State University."

Her overall goal is to own my own business, a boutique! But to start off she wants to gain more leadership experience so she’ll be moving to South Carolina and taking on a management position at Buckle in July!

Finally getting around to honoring our seniors that graduated this spring! First off- Mia Lebo!!

Mia double majored in fashion merchandising and apparel design with a minor in marketing, She was just apart of the student body as she joined in 2020 but did help on the floor for the pop up shop.

Her favorite memory with the fashion department is all of the amazing people she has met. She's never been around that many creative people at one time and has met some of her best friends within the program.

🎓Mia's plans after graduation are to go on the NYC field study and then head to Lake Bryn Mawr Camp for the summer to be the Program Director of Sewing!
