Wonderful studio class today! Steeve Gaietto, Aiden Steinmetz, and Alesha Pennock performed works by Germaine Tailleferre, William Grant Still, and Marilyn Shrude respectively. Meanwhile, juniors Sophia Lee, Chris Sgalla, and Ashtyn Wolph provided helpful feedback. Lovely job, all!

Big day for 1st-year clarinetist Cameron “Steeve” Gaietto (BA Music/Poli Sci), who has just upgraded to an awesome Buffet Crampon R13 Prestige Bb clarinet with 18 keys! That LH Eb lever will come in super handy for awkward moments rep such as the Saint-Säens clarinet sonata. Also, much more in tune and projecting than his old student horn. Congrats!!

We are SO thrilled with the outcome of our first Single Reed Day! Here's our first batch of photos from the day. Many thanks to our amazing artists Jan Berry Baker, Ford Fourqurean, the participants, and Forte Music for making the day so great! And of course, a big thank you to Heidelberg University School of Music & Theatre for supporting this idea!

Busy weekend coming up! First, make sure to attend Sydney Fortney, Sophia Lee, and Ashtyn Wolph’s Junior Recital: tonight at 7pm!

Then, on Saturday, approximately 50 clarinetists and saxophonists will come together for our inaugural Single Reed Day with Jan Berry Baker and Ford Fourqurean! Our final concert will be in Saturday at 5:30pm, come hear the giant single reed ensemble!
