We loved having Thomas as a Young Scholar last summer—and this recognition comes as no surprise.

It’s always rewarding to see our students continue to succeed beyond their time on campus.

Congratulations to former young scholar Jarrett Hancock! Well done sir!

Congratulations to our very own undergraduate student, Jarrett Hancock! Mr. Hancock received the R.W. Griffin Agriculture Scholarship to support him in his future career in agriculture. Jarrett is an outstanding student, and we are glad others see this light in him too! ⭐️

Jarrett graduates from UGA-Tifton this spring and is already receiving job offers. We are so proud of you! Keep representing the Ag Dawgs, Jarrett! ❤️🐾🐶

In addition, all three of these amazing young men participated in the UGA Young Scholars Program on the Tifton Campus and were outstanding student interns during their YSP experience. Kudos to their parents!

Did you know three brothers from South Georgia — Ben, Guy, and Jarrett— all chose UGA-Tifton for their education? Each has carved out their own extraordinary path: Guy as a data scientist and Extension specialist, Ben as an attorney, and Jarrett as a rising leader in precision agriculture and an ambassador for our campus.

Their story is a powerful example of what it means to “Stay Close, Go Far” — pursuing big opportunities while staying rooted in the community that raised them. We couldn’t be more proud to call them ours — and we’re honored that they call UGA-Tifton theirs.

We had a FABULOUS tour by a former Tifton Young Scholar, Dr. Narke Norton!!🤓

Say hello to Jarrett Hancock, a junior at UGA Tifton majoring in Agriscience and Environmental Systems with a focus on Precision Agriculture! 🚜🌱

As a dedicated UGA Tifton Ambassador, Jarrett plays a vital role in leading campus tours, connecting with prospective students, and representing UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at major events like the Sunbelt Ag Expo.
His passion for innovative ag technology and commitment to the industry are setting the stage for his future—after graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s in Precision Agriculture at Auburn University.

Jarrett’s drive for advancing agricultural practices makes him an exceptional student and a proud ambassador for UGA Tifton! We’re excited to watch all that he achieves in the years ahead! 🎓👏
