The Shapiro administration is investing in healthcare, education, and tech, new funding is expanding Schools-to-Work and pre-apprenticeship programs that give students real experience before graduation. These programs are already supporting thousands of young people with classroom instruction, mentorship, and on the job learning opportunities.

Examples of funding at work:
• Pitt Titusville received funding to expand machining and CNC pre apprenticeship programs aligned with regional manufacturing needs.
• School districts statewide are launching new pathways that prepare students for careers in education, healthcare, and more.
• Community partners in Western PA are creating tech focused pre apprenticeships that help students earn credentials and explore cybersecurity careers.

Why it matters: These investments help students graduate not just with a diploma — but with direction, skills, and a clear path to family sustaining careers. Programs are designed with local employers and training providers so students can step confidently into the workforce or further education.

The Swanson School of Engineering Manufacturing Assistance Center (MAC) at Pitt-Titusville is creating new pathways to real careers!
