Members of Pi Kappa Alpha display four important pillars of character we call: SLAG. SLAG is an acronym for scholars, leaders, athletes, and gentlemen. Scholars: We strive to perform the best of our abilities in the classroom. School always comes first, we are at college most importantly for an education. Getting good grades and respecting our school and professors is essential in a Pike's life. Pike's set the example for others by having 100% of the chapter involved in other organizations. We have members in national honor societies, student government, and other scholastic and service based organizations. Pikes not only lead at their school but in their community as well by committing themselves to doing service and philanthropy. Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity Headquarters is the world's leader in education for fraternity leaders that fosters success in a gentleman's life. Athletes: As men we love to win sports, but most importantly we are competitive in all aspects of our lives. We know that men that love to win, and compete to be the best on the court or field, also strive for excellence in the classroom and in their professions. Pike's always strive to be the best whether it's sports, grades, music, service, or any part of their life. Gentlemen: You could display to the highest of caliber all the traits listed above, but if you are not a gentleman, there is no place for you among the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha. A Pike carries himself with dignity, integrity, and honor. He accepts responsibility in all facets of his life, and never backs down from a challenge. Having the up-most respect for women is essential to be a True Pike. Also respecting one's community, brothers, property, school, and fellow man is of the highest importance. A True Pike always sets the needs of others above those of his own and is always looking out for ways to improve his community, and himself.
