Hey Friends! Wow...it’s been a while!

Such a strange feeling to not be gearing up for the Black Swamp Arts Festival this week. I’ve been doing the show since 2001 and it is STILL my favorite festival all year! But I’d be fibbing if I didn’t admit that I have been enjoying the break this summer. As all my artist friends will agree, doing art shows is a TON of work and SO exhausting. You spend every minute in the studio the week before working like crazy to build your stock. You bust your butt getting set up at o-dark-hundred the morning of the show. Then you put on your smiley face 😀, because it’s time to show the world what you’re all about! Oh...and you pray the weather Gods are on your side.🙏🌞
All that? Yeah...I miss it.

I’ve been thinking so much of all my full-time artist friends across the country and hoping they are hanging in there. It’s an odd time for everyone and I hope that we will all be able to be together soon! In the meantime, look up your favorite festival artists. See what they are doing, as most are still out there creating and trying to survive. Support them. Shop your local small businesses. They need us.

I’m hoping to get back in the studio soon and be creative myself. When that finally happens, I’ll let you know. Until then, take care of yourself, others, AND the animals (😉)! And most importantly...BE KIND.
