NOC Livestock Judging Team

Even with the excitement of this week, we want to take time to formally welcome our new livestock judging coach, Thomas Owings! Thomas originates from Huntsville, Missouri, where he and his family own and operate Owings Genetics specializing in cattle, swine and goats.

He received his Associates from Redlands Community College while competing on the Livestock Judging Team. Upon transferring to the University of Arkansas, Thomas received numerous livestock judging accolades and graduated with his Bachelors in Agriculture Education and Extension in 2025.

Thomas was also fortunate enough to be a member of the inaugural 2025 Top Judge Program. He is excited for the opportunity to step into the role as Livestock Judging Coach at NOC and we look forward to welcoming him more officially tomorrow night at The Gathering!

It’s graduation weekend for our Northern Oklahoma College Livestock Judging Team members! With 16 team members finishing this spring, our livestock judging team will graduate with an estimated 3.7 cumulative GPA. Ten members will graduate with Phi Theta Kappa honors, seven with a 4.0 cumulative GPA, and three as All-American recipients.

This impressive group of students accomplished these goals while traveling more than 20,000 miles from August to March, all while consistently finishing in the top three at the five national contests and having high individual at two of the five national contests!

The NOC Livestock Judging Team finished out their judging season earlier this month at The 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!

In addition to team recognitions, NOC had three students recognized as All-American recipients for the 2025-2026 junior college judging season. This award is a combination of GPA and judging success. All three students maintained a 4.0 GPA while judging and include; Madison Fischer, McKenna Sobasky and Ashlee Purvine.
