At the SOAR (Student Organization Achievement Recognition Awards) Awards tonight our education student organization Washburn Next Generation Educators was a big winner. WNGE won the 2021-22 Student Organization of the Year Award. The award was accepted by Rachel Frakes, WNGE President, who was also nominated for the Jerry Farley Leadership Award. Ms. Tracie Lutz, advisor for WNGE, was also nominated for Advisor of the Year. They were recognized as nominees.

WNGE member and senior education major Daija Coleman was a big winner, snagging three awards, including Organization Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion Award, Diversity & Inclusion Event: March on Inclusion, and WSGA Diversity Award.

WNGE’s recognition is truly deserving as they have motivated a great group of students who are committed to becoming future educators. Congratulations! ---craig Carter
