Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Is there a height or weight requirement?
A. No. We do not have any restrictions in regards to height and weight. However, you need to be healthy, fit, and able to maintain energy and stamina through a game day.
Q. Do I have to be a top girl?
A. No. We are always in need of strong female bases as well as strong flyers.
Q. If I don’t have all of the tumbling or stunting skills on the list, can I still tryout?
A. Yes! We have a few members on our team currently that were accepted for their strength in other areas. If you have a fantastic attitude and the ability to learn, there is a chance you could still make the team.
Q. How many people do you accept onto your team?
A. We will take up to 32 athletes’ total. We will fill positions to make the best possible team.
Q. Do you offer scholarships?
A. Yes. However, our budget for scholarships is not huge and amounts will depend on team needs and size. All returning team members receive the same amount. Amounts are changeable each year based on number of athletes returning and total team size.
Washburn University is a first-come-first-served institution when it comes to academic scholarships. Apply early! There are a lot of scholarships available through the university, you just need to apply. Talk to the department of your major and to the admissions office.
