Yager Stadium now boasts the best. 🎩🏈

Nearly a century after Washburn University’s home football field was built in 1928, the Ichabods are starting their 2026 season with facility upgrades and a head-turning turf design unlike anything else in the country.

MMTH Creative and MMTH Sports Construction teams worked directly with the Washburn athletic department to design a custom GAME ON® field that highlights student-athlete safety and Washburn’s hometown pride. Every inch is intentional and the result of hundreds of decisions.

And it’s ready for game day.

Washburn University put hometown pride on full display at Yager Stadium. Using GAME ON® technology only available from Shaw Sports Turf, the extended D-zones now feature two iconic images woven into the turf: the Ichabod mascot and the Kansas State Capitol.

No other field like it anywhere, period. 🔥

Sending good luck to the women's soccer team as they kick off their season tomorrow, taking the multipurpose field for the first time.
