Ironically this week in KN 335: Human Factors and Ergonomics we were learning about environmental considerations. To experience those considerations and load measurement in real time we did an outside lab today. We were outside about 12:45 today to use Wet Bulb Globe Thermometers (WBGT) to measure the heat risk. As you can see (look at pics of each WBGT) it was brutally hot out on the football field and tennis courts. For reference, a WBGT index of 90 or higher means you should not be doing physical activity outside at all! It was very hot!! Washburn University College of Arts and Sciences Washburn University

Dylan Cervantez is joining our staff this semester to do his student teaching for Physical Education with Ms. Thayer. He is attending Washburn University and will graduate in December with his BS of Education -Physical Education/Kinesiology. Mr. Cervantez's hobbies include, running, playing basketball, and slow-pitch softball. He also coaches MS Boys Basketball and has his own lawn care business. Good luck to Dylan as he finishes his degree!
