The Iris Booth Career Scholarship is back!

As a proud Iris Booth partner, Towson University has helped students show up professionally for internships, grad school, and first jobs. This fall, the Iris Booth Career Scholarship returns.

TU students have the chance to receive a US$2,500 scholarship, and the Career Center could receive a US$2,500 award to put back into career development and student success.

How to enter, by December 31:
1️⃣ Take a free headshot in the LinkedIn Photo Booth at the Career Center (UU 225)
2️⃣ Follow Iris Booth on LinkedIn
3️⃣ Post your headshot publicly with , , and tag Iris Booth
4️⃣ Optional: answer two short questions for 5 bonus entries

Summer SECU interns Daniel and Claudia gave us a peek into a day in the life working at a HARBEL Community Organization produce drive.

“I really like working for a company that’s very focused on community and helping others, especially because they support our campus as well,” said Claudia, a senior computer information systems major.

From collaborating with others to bagging and delivering food to cars during pickup, they put skills like communication, teamwork, leadership, and professionalism into action.

Daniel, a senior finance major, encourages students to gain internship experience: “If you are hesitant about looking into an internship opportunity, just give it a try. There’s no reason to reject yourself. There’s the opportunity that you love it, and it can really point you to a career path that you want to get into.”

Internships are an opportunity to learn by doing, connect what you learn in the classroom to the real world, and discover where your career can take you.
