From the NMC Chemistry Prep Room to university lecture halls! 🧪✨

Jonathan Lyon (Class of 2000) is now an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Murray State University. He credits NMC’s small classes and hands-on learning with fostering his curiosity for science and giving him a competitive edge that impressed his future university instructors.

While at NMC, he earned the Joseph H. Rogers Memorial Award for Science and Mathematics—his very first collegiate accolade and an achievement he still holds dear. Since graduating, Jonathan has published over 50 respected research papers, taught thousands of students, and secured tenure at multiple universities.

Inspired by his early days as NMC's Student Government math/science representative, he continues to lead, inspire, and shape the future of science education! 🦉🔬

Our top auditioned choir heads to Canada June 19–23 to perform at iconic cathedrals in Montréal and Québec City, and join a friendship concert with a local Montréal choir.

College can feel like a challenge for anyone at any time. That’s why NMC has developed a program to give students an extra edge before their fall semester starts!

This free four-week summer program gives you the tools to build confidence in math and English, learn time management and study tips and connect with others on the same journey. A Hawk Owl Cafe stipend and snacks are provided, along with a free graphing calculator, class supplies and a $250 scholarship upon successful completion.

Programming begins July 13. Register at nmc.edu/edge.

College Edge is a free NMC program that provides help to prospective and current students prepare for Math and English classes and college in general.
