Summer Learning continues for our amazing educators. ☀️🧮💙

Mrs. Farmer and Ms. Freeman enjoyed the K-5 Number Sense and Number Talks Training from AMSTI.

They learned about characteristics of number sense, like flexibility and fluency, and how number talks give teachers important opportunities to facilitate the development of number sense.

They also learned the importance of teachers fostering a class environment where students feel comfortable to share their thinking, collaborate, and learn from their mistakes.

They came away more confident in their ability to facilitate number talks and with knowledge of several resources they can implement this upcoming school year!

When 2 locations suddenly become 3 locations because of a broken A/C, stormy weather, and the birth of the “AMSTI-Troy Shuttle Service” 😂☔🚌… you learn very quickly how flexible and dedicated math coaches truly are!

We couldn’t have asked for a better group for our OGAP Additive learning sessions. The conversations, collaboration, interaction, and commitment to learning were absolutely incredible.

So thankful for math coaches who roll with the unexpected, keep a positive attitude, and stay focused on growing together for students. ❤️➕📚
