Professional Development and Personal Growth Classes Classes are affordable, and our instructors are top-notch professionals in their respective fields.

The Office of Community Education at Hudson Valley Community College offers a wide range of educational, professional and recreational credit-free classes for everyone from kids to seniors. Highlights include fitness classes, arts classes for kids and special interest classes like motorcycle riding or financial planning for retirement. We also offer non-credit certification programs in emergency medicine, paralegal training and other professional classes.

Cider was among Colonial America’s most consumed beverages and is an art form still practiced today. We’ll learn about and sample ciders from Maine to Virginia, and a few from the west, as we delve into the history of apple growing and cider making.

This 10-hour construction safety course is intended for entry-level participants. Each student will receive an OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety wallet card upon successful completion. Training is delivered by a recognized OSHA-10 Construction Safety instructor.

American Sign Language (ASL) is the third most used language in the United States today. This course is designed for students who are interested in learning about the Deaf community and developing ASL expressive and receptive skills. The course will provide an introduction to ASL and Deaf culture. You will learn practical and common language so you can have a brief conversation with someone from the Deaf community.

We offer four levels of ESL classes. Our classes are offered in a hybrid or remote format. Placement testing to ensure students are in the correct level is required for all students wishing to enroll in our classes. The testing is offered at no cost.

Begin your career as a security guard by completing the eight-hour course and follow it up with the 16-hours class required within 90 days of your employment as a security guard in New York State.

Discover how to improve photographs by editing out flaws, correcting for poor exposure, or adding new elements using the latest techniques.

This course prepares students to take the GED exam. The GED is a national high school equivalency assessment to help individuals address their need for advancement that results in a high school equivalency diploma. Our instructor provides individualized and group instruction in math, science, social studies, reading and writing. Using a Predictor Test, we will work with you to assess your test readiness.
