Every student here at Trojan Patriot Academy brings a unique perspective and experience to the table. Today, we’re sharing a glimpse into Gregory’s experience.
Meet Gregory “Ray” Gibson, a rising high school senior from Troy, Alabama, and a member of the Delaware Colony here at Trojan Patriot Academy! This is Gregory’s second year at Trojan Patriot Academy, a testament to the impact the program has had on him and his desire to continue learning and growing.
Ray was first inspired to join Trojan Patriot Academy because he wanted to learn more about our Founding Fathers and how our country was formed. This year, one of his favorite experiences was visiting Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery, but among the many unforgettable memories he has made this week, the one he will cherish most is learning Michael Jackson dance choreography alongside his colony for a colony challenge.
Reflecting on his growth, Ray shared that Trojan Patriot Academy helped him become a stronger leader by learning from the courage and determination of the individuals who shaped our nation, while also teaching him to collaborate effectively and think quickly in new situations. While these were important reasons for his return this year, the biggest factor was the caring staff and knowledgeable teachers who make the experience so meaningful.
Ray would like to give all future Trojan Patriot Academy students the following advice: “Do what you can, where you can, while you can.”
Ray’s story is just one example of the many students here who experience growth, leadership, and lifelong memories during Trojan Patriot Academy. Thank you, Ray Gibson, for sharing your Trojan Patriot Academy journey with us!
