🌳 We are seeking students interested in participating in the Arbor Day Program at Dothan Area Botanical Gardens on February 26, 2026. This will give the Dothan campus some of the community service hours needed to maintain our Tree Campus USA status. 🌳There will be an opportunity to attend the Arbor Day Program, assist in giving away hundreds of tree seedlings, and participate in a Tree ID and History Tour immediately after the seedling giveaway. Please email me if you are willing to help! [email protected] Dr. O'Sullivan, History Department

Dreams do come true! Join us for Big Mama Thornton historical marker unveiling next Sat. (3/1) 11am at the new Ariton Museum, featuring Ariton blues legends - Big Mama & JW Warren! Thanks to Blues Power DJ - Gil Anthony for his tireless work; Big Mama's Relatives - Benjamin Key; Ben Key; Wiregrass Blues Society; Debbie Bond's and Rick Asherson's research. They will perform as well as Lenny Trawick, Marcus Hart and John Issac Seals. To get to the Ariton Museum (which is newly formed and not in most navigation systems yet): Use Hobo Pantry address for GPS: 22 Pea River Road, Ariton, AL 36311. The Hobo Pantry is ~100 yards from the museum. See this video that explains more about Big Mama's legacy, the marker, and the Ariton museum.
