RPI Class of 1992

As an alumnus of the Class of 1992, on the occasion of the Silver Anniversary of my class' graduation, I am shocked and appalled at the news of this hostile takeover and totalitarian behaviour by the RPI president and Board of Trustees. This must be stopped, and full management control of the beloved RPI Union must be returned to the students! And bring back full student representation on the Board! Obviously, the Board has not been listening to their most important assets: THE STUDENTS.

Additionally, I believe that the STUDENTS would do a much better job of managing the entire University, than the current Administration has been doing in recent years. I've been told that RPI is now over $1 BILLION in debt. Shameful. I hesitate to donate any additional funds to the Institute, for fear that they are running it into the ground. Restore control of the Union to the STUDENTS, or I will be unable to donate any more until that happens. I recommend to all other alumni that they do the same!

Wow, I can hardly believe it's been 20 years! Time sure does fly, and I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone during our Reunion/Homecoming weekend in October. Please, spread the word! We have already selected our hotel and there are tons of activities for everyone during Friday and Saturday. Don’t forget to bookmark and check the RPI Reunion website frequently for updates: www.alumni.rpi.edu/reunion. There will be Greek events, our class dinner Friday night and a huge Fan Fest on Saturday. Did I also mention football and hockey? How can you go wrong?! And, of course, it’s nice to catch up everyone and find out where life has taken them since Dear Old RPI. You can even attend a class or two (if the mood strikes you) and check out how things are done now.

So what have I been up to? After spending many years in Financial Services in the Greater Boston area, I made the change to the vendor side of the business in 2010. I now work for Linedata and manage the Documentation and Training teams in North America. It's been a lot of fun and a challenge learning the software side of the business as well as starting two new departments and expanding our existing client offerings.

My husband and I live just north of Boston with our adorable dog, Mia. I still stay in touch with many of my Phi Alpha Sigma sisters through email, Facebook, weddings and annual get-togethers with "just us ladies."

Of course, there's a lot more going on in my life, but you'll just have to wait until October. Let any of us on the committee know if you plan on coming!

20th Anniversary Reunion - October 5-7, 2012:
This Reunion will be very different from previous Class of 1992 Reunions, in the sense that it is being held while school is in session, coincident with Homecoming! All of our previous Class Reunions were held after the students had left campus at the end of the academic year. Bring Back The Swarm!
