⛏️ Our students are leading the way — underground!

University of Arizona mining engineering seniors recently welcomed U.S. Department of Energy officials to the San Xavier Underground Mining Laboratory, leading a tour showcasing the hands-on training and cutting-edge research preparing the next generation of mining professionals.

The visit brought together DOE leaders, including acting Assistant Secretary Curt Coccodrilli, and School Executive Director Kray Luxbacher to highlight the future of mining education, technology and workforce development.

Would you like to design, build, test and race an all-weather, single-seat off-road vehicle? BAJA Wildcat Racing is the club for you!

Each year, builds a new car for the Baja SAE competitions. Students join teams such as frame, electrical, business, suspension steering and breaks, and drivetrain. The 2027 competition will be held late April/early May in Marana, Arizona.

While getting involved earlier is better, it’s never too late to join. Stop by their shop in AME room N213 most Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. You can also check their Discord server (link in comments.)

The sisters of Phi Sigma Rho recently have florals on the mind. The social sorority gathered with prospective members to create bouquets of flowers and decorate flowerpots.

The events are part of their recruitment process, called Continuous Open Bidding.
