Thank you to the Tucson office of Snell & Wilmer for recently hosting the annual reception for the Arizona Law First Circuit Program, an initiative to support first-generation law students with strategic programming, mentorship networks and peer support.

The event marked five years of Snell & Wilmer supporting the program with wisdom, talent and a friendly space. It was the largest reception to date, for the largest ever First Circuit cohort. Students and attorneys enjoyed an open, rich and candid conversation about working and balancing life in a large law firm.

Attendees from the firm included Arizona Law alumni Courtney Henson (’13), Ben Hawkins (’17), Gaby Morlock (’19), Emily Thomason (’23) and Roxanne Veliz (’95), as well as attorneys Alex Bevans and Joe Kroeger.

Thanks again to our hosts for the warm welcome and ongoing support of the program!

Professor Whiteman Runs Him and Tribal Justice Clinic students filed an amicus brief to the US Court of Appeals, DC Circuit regarding the Tohono O’odham Nation v. Mullin case, which challenges the current border wall construction on the Tohono O’odham Nation reservation.

Countless women, and some men, posted on social media that they were Jane Doe, in support of a young woman using that name to file a lawsuit against Cornell University and seven fraternity members she accuses of ra**ng her.

Our Veterans' Advocacy Law Clinic recently participated in a Stand Down hosted by the Tohono O'odham Nation, an event where community resources come together to provide free services to veterans.

Thank you to Clinic Director Kristine Huskey, Clinic Fellow Caleb Hayter, and law students Gunnison Hays, Andre Bengston, Joseph Siml and Taeya Dickamore for representing Arizona Law and showing up for veterans.
