The University of Tulsa was proud to host the National Senior Games this spring during .
From the first whistle to the final demonstration, the event was filled with energy and excitement. Athletes and community members enjoyed an exhibition basketball game, line dance and tai chi demonstrations, and jumped in to try pickleball, co****le, power walking, and shuffleboard.

While we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Route 66, the Tulsa Flyer gives us a history lesson on the significance of the "Green Book," which served as a guide that helped Black travelers travel along the highway safely during the era of Jim Crow segregation: https://tulsaflyer.org/2026/05/27/culture/post/route-66-green-book/

The University of Tulsa is proud to support the important work of the Tulsa Flyer and Oklahoma Eagle, which operate out of UTulsa's 101 Archer building near the historic Greenwood District.

Route 66 promised access to long-distance travel β€” and an escape from peril for many Black Americans. But historians say Black motorists needed the help of The Green Book to stay safe.
