Bamasportscom The University of Alabama Program in Sports Communication (APSC) A new academic program? No. A fusion of students, faculty, and a plethora of existing programs?

Absolutely. The University of Alabama Program in Sports Communication provides the opportunity to connect sports communication programs and emphases in the College of Communication & Information Sciences and in many other Colleges at the Capstone. The APSC offers public events, highlights research and creative projects, and facilitates advanced discussions of communication and sport issues through

out the community and throughout the nation. The APSC features a hub for field-related academic offerings, bridges work from top-notch faculty, facilitates visibility of student work, and promotes local events and recent UA-authored scholarship. Overall, the synergy found in the University of Alabama Program in Sports Communication does not replace existing academic programs, but creates interdisciplinary connections within and among them to promote the study of sports communication in its myriad forms throughout American society and the world.
