Join us for the final round of The Black Harvest Series on November 18th at 11:00am CT/12:00pm ET. This discussion is a forum specifically for Black farmers, ranchers, and/or fisherfolk to gather and share your challenges, needs, and points of collaboration. If you are not a Black producer please help us to get the information to the producers you know and if possible help them connect to this session. Our goal is to document and disseminate ongoing efforts to support Black producers in the South.

An ongoing assessment by the Federation of Southern Cooperatives found that of the 330 farmers surveyed, 93% identified direct financial assistance as their most pressing need in the face of COVID-19. Given the severity of the need, this conversation will provide space for you to listen and share with other Black producers in the South to get an understanding of what the capacity to produce has been since COVID-19. This is an intentionally intergenerational space that honors the Black experience and perspective on ways to secure the resources we need to thrive. Please come prepared to share your successes and challenges while you engage with others from across the South.

The Black Harvest Series will be moderated by the Tuskegee Public Dialogue Team (TPDT) in partnership with the Carver Integrative Sustainability Center (CISC). This series is sponsored by Southern SARE and Tuskegee University.

Door prizes will be awarded. We look forward to seeing you on November 18th at 11:00am CT/12:00pm ET.
