CALLING ALL APACHE BAND ALUMS!

We want you to help us celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Apache Band on the RIM and in the STANDS for our homecoming game this Saturday, October 22nd! Dust off your instrument, find that reed from sometime in the 80’s and come experience what it’s like to be an Apache Band member just “one more time”.

1:45pm Gather at the top of the east visitor stands for Rim Walk
2pm Rim Walk begins
2:50pm Pregame performance by the Apache Band
3pm Join us in the stands!

Join the Apache Band in the traditional Rim Walk and ON THE FIELD for a special performance with the band during pregame!
Stick around and join the band in the stands - play loud, yell, dance- have a great time! Registration link coming soon!

Additional Event Details for Friday, October 21, 2022

Tours

Arrive between 5:00-7:00 p.m. to receive a docent-guided tour of the new, state-of-the-art Band and Belles facilities. Tours will start from the Reception Desk in the Lobby and proceed through the first and second floors, including the Belle Rehearsal Studio and the Band Hall. You will get a glimpse of the Belles' locker rooms, the Band's practice rooms, the Music Library and the many special spaces where students may study and socialize with their peers.

A Celebration of the Band & Belles 75th Anniversary

A special celebration and welcome reception will commence in the Ornelas Center Band Hall at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening, including heavy hors d'oeuvres and desserts by Jack's Catering. A variety of beverages will be offered by Pour Me Bars, and an espresso cart will open up later in the evening. Music will be provided by the inimitable George Faber Jazz Band, and you'll have the chance to mix and mingle with fellow alumni, the Band and Belles Directors, Music faculty and TJC Leadership. Remarks will be made from the stage at various intervals.

Don't leave without taking in the history exhibits, getting a Tap Snap photo with your friends and family, and picking up a free 75th Anniversary vintage t-shirt.

TJC salutes Apache Band Gold member, Will Jennings!

March 27 is the day we celebrate all those involved in the performing arts, including our own two-time Oscar winner: lyricist and TJC graduate Will Jennings. Mr. Jennings won Best Original Song Oscars for "Up Where We Belong" in 1983 and "My Heart Will Go On" in 1998.
