On weekends, country artist Chris Colston stands beneath concert lights across Texas, guitar in hand, sharing stages with artists including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary Allan and Cody Johnson. But, during the week, Colston has been trading his guitar for a laptop as he earned a degree from Tyler Junior College.

TJC students are earning national recognition for academic achievement, leadership and service, receiving more than $19,000 in competitive scholarships and honors this spring through Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society programs.

They crossed the stage in the fifth of five commencement ceremonies kicking off our Centennial celebration. Wish them well as they say Feathers Up and Farewell!
