Road Trip!

SSS Academic Retention Specialist Rachel Hannan recently took SSS students Chasidy Vaughn and Joseph Rulevish to the SIU Aquarium along with bus driver Curtis Salley.

They saw sturgeon and clownfish, learned about aquatic careers, and even visited the fermentation lab.

It was a great trip!

Recently, TRIO SSS visited Murray State University to explore transfer opportunities.

Advisor Tanya Hill and SSS Student of the Year Keeghan Steele toured the campus. As you can see, spring has sprung at Murray!

Help us celebrate Courtney Balderas.

She is working on her Associate of Arts degree at Shawnee Community College and has been accepted to Louisiana State University.

Courtney will be completing the Forensic Psychology program online. She will begin at LSU in the fall of 2026.

She explains why she chose LSU. "I want to attend LSU and complete a degree there as a way to honor my big brother. He was born there, and their football team was his favorite. Even though he won't be able to physically see and celebrate this accomplishment with me, I know that he is still proud of me."
