Through tutoring sessions, peer mentoring, and classroom support, these student workers helped fellow Falcons succeed all year long.
Now, we’re highlighting a few of the students who made an impact through their work in The Learning Center and as Supplemental Instruction leaders. 🌟
Student Worker Spotlight: Roxas Flaherty, Supplemental Instructor
Roxas first came to ECC because of the Fine Arts program before eventually switching majors to psychology. What made him stay was the sense of community he found on campus among fellow students and supportive staff.
He served as a Supplemental Instructor for sociology courses, leading group discussions and helping students connect with course material and one another.
Through the role, Roxas discovered a passion for building connections and creating spaces where students feel comfortable sharing ideas and perspectives.
“I’ve learned that the voice in your head that says you aren’t capable is a liar.”
Outside of ECC, Roxas enjoys drawing, writing comics, hiking, reading, movies, and video games. After ECC, he plans to continue studying psychology at Central Methodist University with the goal of becoming an art therapist. 🎨
