Vandalia Masonic Lodge No. 290 Donates $1,000 to Cass County Council on Aging
CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — August 14, 2026 — Vandalia Masonic Lodge No. 290 recently presented a $1,000 donation to the Cass County Council on Aging in support of the organization and its work serving older adults throughout Cass County.
Representing Vandalia Lodge No. 290, Justin Whitson and Ronn Foster presented the check to Kelli Casey of the Cass County Council on Aging.
The Cass County Council on Aging provides programs, services and resources designed to help older adults maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. Its work touches individuals and families throughout Cass County and provides an important source of support for the community.
“The Council on Aging is doing work that directly improves the lives of people right here in Cass County,” said Justin Whitson of Vandalia Lodge No. 290. “When we have an opportunity as Masons to support an organization that is taking care of our neighbors and strengthening our community, we believe that is an opportunity worth supporting.”
The $1,000 contribution reflects Vandalia Lodge No. 290’s continuing commitment to supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the communities its members call home.
“Freemasonry has always placed a strong emphasis on charity, service and taking care of our communities,” said Ronn Foster of Vandalia Lodge No. 290. “We aren't here simply to meet inside the walls of a lodge. We have a responsibility to take the values we practice as Masons and put them to work in the communities where we live.”
Whitson said supporting organizations such as the Cass County Council on Aging is one way the lodge can turn those principles into action.
“A thousand dollars may be one donation, but when local organizations, businesses and individuals all step forward to help, those contributions add up to something much bigger,” Whitson said. “Strong communities are built when people are willing to look out for one another.”
Foster added that community involvement will continue to be an important part of the lodge’s mission.
“We want Vandalia Lodge to be known not simply for being here, but for making a positive difference because we are here,” Foster said.
Vandalia Lodge No. 290 is a Masonic lodge located in Union, Michigan, whose members are committed to the Masonic principles of brotherhood, charity, personal character and service to others.
