After-school / work Coone Dots. It's always nice when the scopers let me slide up on the front deck for a few cast to show them why I'm the pater familias. It's also the first time I've gotten to take a ride in the Logan Parks Nitro Boats.

Congrats to former University of South Carolina - Union Bass Fishing Team Caleb Hudson on winning the 2026 Pro-Guide Batteries BASSMASTER Rookie of the Year title.

Caleb came through USC Union, and his journey is proof that you don’t have to come from the biggest university or the most nationally recognized program to chase big dreams and accomplish incredible things.

It can be done through a small university.

With the right opportunities, the right people around you, hard work, and a willingness to bet on yourself, there is no limit to where this sport can take you.

We’re incredibly proud of Caleb and everything he has accomplished. Watching one of our own continue to represent himself and his journey at the highest level is something special.

1st Fall Derby of the Season is complete for the SC College Bass Nation event on Hartwell. Austin McCall led the boys from USC Union with 18lbs and a 5th place finish to bring home a little lunch money. Scores of our other teams had 11 - 14lb bags and knocked off the summer rust. Excited for the next one on the Hill on September. We also had a great crowd of parents that came to support our guys - I'd put our support system up against anyone.

First derby of the year for the USC Union anglers started this morning at Gum Branch Boat Ramp for the SC Bass Nation Trail. Weigh-In starts at 3:00PM.
