Two Mondays before recruitment! Today we are hearing from our President, Elizabeth Stout! Liz has been a dedicated member of Theta throughout her time at JCU, so it's very that she is our leading lady!

Take it away Elizabeth ➡️

Hey ladies! My name is Elizabeth, and I'm the President of Kappa Alpha Theta. This has been such a dream of mine, having previously served as VPEA for two years. I am a Senior Marketing major with an internship at ADCOM Marketing Group! Today I will be sharing my school year ins & outs ⭐️

INS:

Enjoying campus!

Going into my senior year, I want to spend as much time on campus as possible! Whether that’s sitting on the quad, late night tween runs, or even just walking around while listening to music. I love being here surrounded by so many great people, I want to enjoy it while I can.

INS:

Taking as many photos as possible!

Why not capture the moment! I love a good camera roll scroll after a night with friends or just looking back at random things I thought was aesthetic (even if it’s just not).

INS:

Prioritizing yourself!

Whether that means enjoying a night in, getting that coffee, or just doing whatever YOU want. There’s a lot going on in college and it’s easy to stop giving yourself the treatment you deserve. Always remember how important it is to take care of yourself first.

OUTS:

Being mysterious!

SAY IT WITH YOUR FULL HEART! Don’t feel like you can’t show who you truly are. You should surround yourself with people that make you feel seen and with the right people, you’ll never been seen as mysterious.

OUTS:

Feeling bad for saying no

If you don’t love doing something that is supposed to add to your life, why do it? I don’t stretch yourself too thin and only do things that make you happy!

OUTS:

Not fully committing to things

Do everything in life with your full self. I think it’s really important to give what you want your all! If it’s classes, work, or people, make sure you make it worth it.

As it's the first full week of classes, we thought we'd hear from Bella Giordano, our Academic Director! She oversees Theta academics, holds study hours, and promotes good school habits. She leads by example, and is extremely motivated in school and this position! Just last week, she left out Smarties on the floor to wish our girls good luck with the semester. We are so luck to have her!

Take it away Bella ➡️

Hi everyone, I’m Bella! I am a Junior Biology Major with a Minor in Entrepreneurship. I am from Rochester, New York! As classes are just beginning, I wanted to give you guys my guide to academic success!

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to make connections with your professors! Going to office hours not only allow allows you to get help on assignments, but it lets your professors know that you care and want to form relationship relationships with them.

In my experience, studying with friends and classmates can make studying much more enjoyable! Being able to talk through material with other people can help you memorize easier and gives you an accountability partner. I spent so much time studying with my Theta sisters, and it makes it so much more fun!

The worst thing you can do for yourself as a college student is procrastinating. I try to get my assignments done as soon as I can so that I have more time in my day to do other things like hanging out on the floor, get a coffee, or take a walk around campus!

JCU has so many fun spots around campus that can make doing homework more fun! Although you sometimes need to lock in at the library, studying on the quad, in Saxbys, or taking a quick walk to Biggby, can give you a change of scenery that can make all the difference.

Sometimes looking through your to-do list of assignments can feel dreadful. Make studying fun by listening to your favorite album or getting your favorite Starbucks drinks from the Den This can give you a boost motivation to get things done! I hope everybody has an incredible first semester 😁

We are so excited to be back on campus! Today we are hearing from Gabriella Pilat, our VP of External Affairs! She manages all things philanthropy and social media!

Take it away Gabby ➡️

Hiii everyone! My name is Gabby Pilat, and I'm a rising sophomore Political Science major with minors in Spanish and AI. Aside from Greek life, I am a member of our cheer team, a Class of 2029 Senator, and apart of the AMDG cohort! Everybody talks about sisterhood as part of the sorority experience, but today I'm going to show you what that ACTUALLY means 🫰🏻

There are Thetas in every corner of campus! From athletics, to clubs, to on-campus jobs, it is very rare that I go a day without seeing a smiling sister . I love seeing my sisters pursue their passions and get recognized for the incredible leaders they are. We get to chew each other on inside and outside the chapter!

A quality I admire most about Thetas is how genuinely supportive they are. I was so nervous to campaign for Student Government, especially putting up posters of my face on them. I was met with so much kindness and encouragement. Girls were texting me asking for posters, sharing with their friends, and reminding me how proud they were at me! It meant so much to me, and was one of the first times I felt through at home.

I am so grateful to serve on our Executive Board. This is a position that I care deeply about, and continuously strive to grow in and improve on. Thetas are leading women, and that is exemplified in our meetings. We challenge each other, encourage when another, and push each other to be better. Not only for Theta, but for ourselves and the people around us.

My favorite part of sisterhood has to be the mundane moments. It's rotting on the quad, getting froyo and driving with the windows down, the quick conversations in between class. It's the late night talks, spontaneous plans, and moments that don't seem significant at the time but somehow become the ones you cherish the most. Those are the moments that make it all worth it.

Sisterhood extends beyond just Theta. Greek life at John Carroll is such a special community, and I'm very proud to say that a lot of my best frie

It's your favorite day of the week! Today we are hearing from Elizabeth Recchiuti, our VP of Administration. She manages chapter operations, maintains compliance with bylaws, and oversees our point systems! She is super organized, and a fabulous addition to our exec board. We couldn't function without her! Fun fact...this is her second year in the role 😇
