Shawn’s practice includes advice and counseling on all aspects of intellectual property law, with a focus on patent matters, including patent prosecution, enforcement, licensing, and risk avoidance strategies. ⁣⁣Shawn’s experience spans a variety of industries.

He works closely with a variety of food manufacturers, one of the world’s largest dental manufacturers, and a medical textile and biomaterials company.⁣⁣Shawn is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. ⁣⁣

Guess who won the $7,500 grand prize in the Ag Springboard student business pitch contest!?! Five finalist teams with Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences students and new ventures in the ag sciences pitched judges Friday.

Irwin Innovation Group won first place and $7,500 with its pitch for crop row covers made of h**p! Congratulations to Louis Waryanka and Sam Hackman.

Waryanka is a senior, majoring in Agricultural Science and studying for a double-minor in Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship and Innovation (with a Food and Bio-Innovation focus).

Hackman is a senior, majoring in Agribusiness Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (with a focus in New Ventures.)

Our second-place prize goes to ... Carbon Compost!

Students Ram Neupane and Divya Pant pitched a compost fertilizer made from bio-gas co-products.

Pant is a second-year Master’s student in Agronomy. Neupane is a first-year, Ph.D. student in Plant Pathology.
