Week 2 of Tuesday Throw Down brought us some interesting unexpected answers. We asked students from each of the branches what these ranks were. They got 1 point for each correct answer. They couldn't look it up, and they had to complete it in a short amount of time (about 1 minute).

Let us know how you would have done without looking them up or taking time to think about the answers. If you see the post and walk away, that wouldn't have been counted as it gave you too much time to think. Let's see your answers.

By far most people were confused on the Space Force Ranks as we got some such as Space Ranger, and Alien Hunter. Overall, the updated points are as follows.

OVP is starting a new series taking place every Tuesday this semester where we are pitting branches against branches for end of semester bragging rights. Each week's categories will change. This week we ran a report from the Spring 2026 semester and took the GPA for the top three students on the excel spreadsheet as they appeared from every branch of service. Added and averaged and gave points based off who was randomly drawn. Next week each branch will be able to collect 6 points, it just depends on which service member will represent. We plan on opening some weeks to family members so they can support their parents branch and maybe we'll even open it to prior PSU student veterans if we can get enough interest. This week, the Marine Corps starts out in the lead. Lucky draw or well deserved (only time will tell). Next Tuesday we'll post the next challenge and results.

Day 3 of 4 (we won’t be doing breakfast on Friday, but we will be providing pizza for lunch). So we know you’re doing about 15,000 steps everyday. That equates to roughly 6.4-6.5 miles per day for the last two days. Let us help replenish some of your lost calories. We also have enough creamer to last us a year and Dunkin said they basically ran out of little cream cheese tubs thanks to us so they gave us a big one today. Keep pushing those boundaries.

I bet growing up your parents always said eat your veggies and take your vitamins. I say now is the time to be a little rebellious. Coffee, bagels, and donuts two days in row, says just that. Stop over at the OVP student lounge and get some free breakfast.
