The department of biomedical engineering at Penn State is a rapidly growing department encompassing traditional engineering principles with medicine, materials, and the life sciences. We currently have 13 full-time faculty members with primary appointments in biomedical engineering, along with more than 40 affiliates aimed to enrich our interdisciplinary graduate program. Currently, more than 200

students are enrolled in our quickly advancing programs. Graduates have a wide variety of career options including positions in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, medical device design, quality control, and advanced studies in medicine and engineering.
