On Tuesday, students in our Digital Archaeology course took to the Grove to gain hands-on experience with GPS data collection and spatial mapping. The data gathered will form the foundation of a GIS model of the Grove, which students will begin constructing next week.

Digital Archaeology (CLC/ANTH 375) is a team-taught course led by Dr. DiBiasie-Sammons (Department of Classics) and Dr. Tune (University of Mississippi Department of Sociology and Anthropology). Department of Anthropology graduate student Sonya Gentile instructed the students on the use of the total station.

Calling all first-time field school students!

The deadline for the Archaeological Field School Scholarships is coming up soon. This funding can help cover tuition, travel, and other field school expenses for undergraduate juniors, seniors, and first-year graduate students who have never participated in a field school.
