Our Story

The School of Engineering at Ole Miss aims to create well-rounded engineering professionals. We want to make sure that our students gain the technical knowledge as well as develop the communications, critical-thinking and teamwork skills vital in today’s world.

Ole Miss Engineering was founded in 1900, making it the oldest in Mississippi. That said, it is not the largest in the state – and we are proud of that. Our students constantly say how their professors make time to help them with their classwork, projects and future goals.

And our great network of alumni share their experiences – from what it’s like as a starting engineer to how they’ve achieved success in their work life – and help graduates along their career path.
