Meet Dorian Desiree Holmes Pomerlee.

Dorian is an Allied Health Education major at the University of Mississippi and is completing her AmeriCorps Mississippi service with Jumpstart. She is serving preschoolers at Oxford Early Childhood Center and was kind enough to complete our Member Spotlight questionnaire.

Favorite children’s book: “No, David!”

What would you say if you could travel back in time and tell your 5-year-old self something?: “No matter what, no one can take my education away if I’m the one seeking to learn.”

Why did you choose to serve in Jumpstart?: “To enrich the children in my community, as well as seeing children thrive in an environment where they can be their true self to navigate their young lives in Pre-K.”

Congratulations to Corps Member, Madeline Roberts, for being inducted into the Southern Miss Community Service Student Hall of Fame!

Madeline has served with Jumpstart at the University of Southern Mississippi for two years. When asked about her experience serving with Jumpstart she shared, “this organization impacts not only the children and schools we serve, bit it greatly impacts the members who serve!”

Raven serves with MS Jumpstart at The University of Mississippi. When asked what her favorite moment from this year Raven said, “having all of our students try to hug me at once after singing our Goodbye Jumpstart song.”
