Curiosity is good for us.

Not every experience has to improve your productivity. Sometimes learning something simply because you're interested is enough.

A place can be part of your well-being, too.

Today is 918 Day... a celebration of the people, cultures, artists, businesses, and communities that make Tulsa what it is.

For our OU Tulsa employees, that's part of the route, too.

Well-being doesn't stop when you leave work. Sometimes it looks like knowing your community. Finding a favorite place. Supporting a local business. Listening to music. Meeting someone new. Feeling connected to where you live.

918 Day Festival:
Date: September 18, 2026
Time: 5-9 PM
Location: Chapman Green, 600 S Main Street

At LiveWell, we believe well-being is more than a program, a challenge, or a list of resources.

It’s about people.

The people who teach.
The people who care for others.
The people who keep our campuses moving.
The people who lead, create, solve problems, serve, research, and make the University of Oklahoma what it is.

Our mission is simple:
To help create a workplace where OU employees have the opportunity to thrive... personally and professionally.

That means creating opportunities to learn, connect, move, reflect, recharge, and find support when you need it.

Because when employees have the opportunity to pursue their excellence, we all benefit.

Some routes are easier with other people.

A colleague who checks in.
A friend who listens.
Someone who makes you laugh between meetings.
A team that notices when someone needs support.

Connection isn't an extra part of well-being. For many of us, it's part of it.

Sometimes well-being starts with curiosity.

Learning how sleep affects your energy.

Understanding stress.

Finding a better way to organize your day.

Hearing from someone who knows more about a topic you're interested in.

Learning is a route, too.

What is something about your well-being you'd genuinely like to understand better?

Checking in doesn't require the perfect words.

"How are you doing?"
"How have things been lately?"
"You good?"

Sometimes being willing to ask... and genuinely listen... is enough to open a door.

If someone needs more support than a conversation can provide, 988 is available 24/7 for mental health and substance-use support.

This September, Oklahoma ODMHSAS is encouraging all of us to make checking in part of everyday conversation.

Well-being looks different depending on where you are, what you need, and what you have the capacity for right now.

Maybe this week, your route is taking a walk during lunch.
Maybe it's attending a meditation session.
Maybe it's attending a fitness class you want to try.
Maybe it's learning something new.
Maybe it's doing absolutely nothing extra because you already have enough on your plate.

That's okay, too.

The goal isn't to check every box. The goal is to find what actually supports you.
