🦟 Mild allergic reactions happen after a mosquito bite, with itchy symptoms lasting several days

Your hands do a lot for you every day, from typing papers to scrolling and gaming. But too much repetitive movement can lead to carpal tunnel symptoms like pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness in your hands and wrists.

🖐️ What to watch for:
• Tingling or numbness in fingers
• Hand or wrist pain, especially at night
• Weak grip or trouble holding objects

💻 Small changes can help:
• Take short breaks every 20 to 30 minutes
• Stretch your hands/wrists throughout the day
• Keep your wrists in a neutral position while typing
• Adjust your screen and keyboard to a comfortable height

If your symptoms worsen, schedule an appointment with your McKinley primary care provider. They can evaluate your symptoms and refer you to a specialist if needed.

Taking care of your hands now can help you avoid bigger problems later. 🤝

🧘 Mindfulness is a word that gets used a lot, but what does it actually mean? Being mindful simply means being present, aware, and grounded in what is happening around you. It's about slowing down enough to notice your thoughts, your feelings, and your environment without judgment. Even a few seconds of mindfulness can help you reset during a busy day.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, try the STOP method to bring yourself back to the moment.

S- Stop what you are doing; Pause between classes, during a study session, or even mid-scroll.

T- Take deep breaths; Try a simple pattern like in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4.

O- Observe, reflect; What am I feeling right now; What is causing this stress; What do I need in this moment.

P- Proceed gently; Maybe that means grabbing a coffee with a friend, stepping outside, or giving yourself permission to rest.

You do not have to have it all figured out. Taking a moment to pause can make a big difference. 🤍 McKinley is here to keep you well to excel!
