FUTURE-MINDS-QB, a bridge program streamlining a path from a master’s degree at Fisk University, a historically Black university in Nashville, to a doctoral degree at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, has received a T32 training grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)!

This program will increase participation from underrepresented groups in biomedical data science and quantitative biology, helping build a more diverse scientific community.

CPLC faculty Nigel Goldenfeld is still hard at work developing models to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in Illinois.

For the first time in months, COVID-19 cases are climbing again in Illinois. So is the percent of tests coming back positive. So are hospitalizations. All as vaccines are injected into tens of thousands of Illinoisans a day.
