Neurocognitive Health Behavior Laboratory at UIUC We conduct research related to nutrition and exercise and the impact they have on brain function.

The BCNN Lab is located in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at Freer Hall on the UIUC campus. Our various studies research the impact that different nutrition components and exercise habits have on cognition. We study many different age groups and have opportunities for both men and women to participate in research. We are currently seeking adults between 45-64 years of age for a research study to see how a healthy diet supports brain and heart health. Eligible individuals will be asked to visit our laboratory (Freer Hall, 906 S Goodwin Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801) for up to 4 visits to measure memory and thinking abilities. During these visits, we will set up a meal delivery service for you to receive free, healthy meals for 3-4 months. Those who complete the study will receive $200 for their time.

We are currently seeking adults between 20 and 45 years old for a research study to see how nutritional supplementation impacts vision and cognition. Eligible individuals will be asked to visit our laboratory (Freer Hall, 906 S Goodwin Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801) for 5 visits to complete various surveys, eye assessments, and thinking tasks. Participants will also receive supplements to consume daily for 4 months. Those who complete the study will receive $400 for their time.

Participation involves the collection of stool samples and diet records. Participants will complete surveys and computer tasks (over 6 visits of 1.5 to 2.5 hours each) to assess thinking ability.
