VSU Communication Sciences & Disorders The VSU Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study that lead to a bachelor of science in education degree, a master of education in communication disorders, and a clinical doctorate. Our diverse faculty is highly qualified and bring a variety of experiences to the academic and clinical environment. The department is also home to the Valdosta

Speech & Hearing Clinic. The goal of the Clinic is to offer hearing evaluations, speech evaluations, and speech/language therapy to the community. Services are provided by graduate clinicians, who are supervised by licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologists

The master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders education program in speech-language pathology at Valdosta State University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, Maryland, 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

Over Labor Day Weekend, a few of our CSD Blazers traveled to Rutledge, GA to learn and gain experience with all things AAC at Camp Speak. Our graduate clinicians teamed up with campers using augmentative alternative communication devices and had a fun summer camp getaway with activities like ziplining, canoeing, and tie dye making! Both campers and clinicians had an unforgettable long weekend gathered around the campfire and making VSU proud 🏕️

Out of town highlight! On August 21st, our very own VSU graduate student Addeline Wright and VSU Clinic Director, Katie Walden, traveled to Warner Robins for the GSHA Leadership and Mentor Academy kick off. Students and faculty from universities across the state of Georgia were welcomed to the GLMA year and had a great day engaging in activities to promote professional communication and leadership qualities.
