We’re proud to spotlight Jason Van Nus, a two-time Valdosta State University graduate from the College of Education, earning degrees in Business Education Grades 6-12 in both 2004 and 2008.

Jason was recently appointed as the first CEO of the WIN (Workforce Innovation Network) Regional College & Career Academy (CCA), a role that highlights his leadership, vision, and commitment to regional growth and collaboration.

Throughout his career, Jason has demonstrated a passion for education, leadership, and community development, continuing to make a meaningful impact across South Georgia.

Blazer-Owned Business Spotlight

This week, we're proud to highlight Southern Therapy Solutions, founded by Erin Haskins, a 2008 graduate of the College of Education with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication Disorders.

Southern Therapy Solutions provides faith-rooted, multidisciplinary therapy services for children and adults across South Georgia including speech, feeding, occupational, behavioral, and nutrition support.

The organization currently employing five VSU students and 18 VSU alumni, including seven graduates of the Communication Sciences and Disorders master's program.

We're proud to celebrate Erin and the positive impact Southern Therapy Solutions is making in our communities!

We are THRILLED to announce the winners of the 2026 Distinguished Alumni & Graduate of the Last Decade awards!

Blazer Alumni Spotlight: Pat Jernigan ’98

We’re proud to spotlight Pat Jernigan, a 1998 graduate of the College of Education with a degree in Sports Medicine.

Pat currently serves as Head Football Athletic Trainer at the University of Mississippi, where he has spent years supporting student-athletes and helping lead one of the SEC’s premier football programs. Before joining Ole Miss, Pat spent more than a decade in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, contributing to the team’s Super Bowl championship season in 2002 and multiple division titles.

Throughout his career, Pat has built an impressive background in athletic training, rehabilitation, and sports performance, including research work alongside the Gatorade Sports Science Institute.

We love seeing Blazers making an impact at the highest levels of athletics and sports medicine. Congratulations, Pat!

Blazer Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Gregory Tanner '94

We’re proud to spotlight Dr. Gregory M. Tanner, a 1994 graduate of Valdosta State University, where he earned master’s degrees in Physical Education and Educational Leadership.

Dr. Tanner was recently named President of South Georgia State College by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Throughout his career, he has served as a teacher, coach, principal, superintendent, and higher education administrator, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to student success and educational excellence across South Georgia.

We love seeing Blazers leading and making a difference in education and their communities. Congratulations, Dr. Tanner, on this outstanding achievement!

Born to proud parents Brock and Taylor Williams, this little one is already part of the Blazer family legacy. Brock earned his business degree at Valdosta State University, and Taylor crossed the stage with her education degree this May—perfectly timed to welcome their newest addition.

Blazer Alumni Spotlight: Felecia Pryor ’98

We’re proud to spotlight Felecia Pryor, a 1998 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Felecia currently serves as Senior Vice President & Chief People Officer at John Deere, where she oversees the company’s human resources, labor relations, enterprise security, aviation, and brand and communications functions as a member of the senior management team.

Throughout her accomplished career, Felecia has held leadership roles with major global companies including BorgWarner and Ford Motor Company, with experience spanning talent development, employee engagement, labor relations, and international leadership assignments in both Thailand and China. In addition to her VSU degree, she also earned a master’s degree in public administration and a law degree and is licensed to practice law in Michigan.

We love seeing Blazers leading at the highest levels and making an impact across industries worldwide. Congratulations, Felecia!
