AAUW-Valdosta Branch The Valdosta branch of the American Association of University Women helps to promote education and equity for women and girls.

The Valdosta AAUW participates in the life of the community by offering programs throughout the year, including its signature project, the Sister-to-Sister Middle School Girls Summit that is a day-long event at Valdosta State University that encourages girls to talk about social issues and develop actionable plans. Other programs include a non-partisan political forum, an International Students' B

On Nov 20, we celebrated each other and the world! Thank you to Valdosta State University students, the VSU International Program, and Valdosta-AAUW members who joined us for a night of delicious foods inspired by communities around the globe, and for the informative cultural discussions and presentations. Countries represented during our 2025 Annual International Dinner included: Jordan, South Korea, Ghana, Sweden, Columbia, Russia, Italy, Vietnam, Belize, El Salvador, United States of America, and Kyrgyzstan.

Congratulations to our very own branch member, Chiquita Jones, for being recognized as a 2025 GSCA School Counselor of the Year Semi-Finalist. Jones is a school counselor for Lowndes Middle School. When sharing the good news, Jones stated, “I don’t normally toot my own horn, but I’m pretty proud of the things I’ve done to help my students and community. It is an honor to be recognized.” We are so very proud of her accomplishment!🎉
