Congratulations to our 2024-25 retirees!

Valdosta State University recently hosted its annual Retiree Recognition Ceremony and Celebration in honor of 21 faculty and staff members who are retiring during the 2024-2025 academic year.

“This group includes many difference makers who have served our Blazer Nation family, and we are grateful for the contributions they have made to this university,” said Dr. Richard A. Carvajal, president of VSU. “Their leadership and guidance have been instrumental to our success; their dedication and hard work have been an inspiration to those who worked with them, learned from them, or called them friend. The VSU Retirees Association (VSURA) Officers and Council have prepared a useful set of programs for VSU retirees. VSURA is your organization. Please send us your ideas for future programs.

Monday, October 2 – VSU Benefits and Wellness Fair in the morning. Hybrid VSURA Annual Meeting at 2:00 pm in UC Theatre and on Zoom. Election of three VSURA Council members. Presentation by Catherine Wills of 2024 medical insurance benefits.

Sunday, October 15 - Thursday, December 7 – Medicare Open Enrollment for post-65 retirees.

Monday, October 23 - Friday, November 3 – USG Open Enrollment for dental/vision/life insurance for all retirees.

Tuesday, November 14, 10:30-11:30 am – hybrid VSURA meeting – Public Art at VSU and in Valdosta by Steve Lahr.

Tuesday, December 12, 10:30-11:30 am – hybrid VSURA meeting – Inspiration!

Wednesday, December 13, 10 am – USG HRA online help session.
