Soe Soe Aye Htun, M.P.H., Dr.P.H. candidate, had the opportunity to visit the New York office of Senator Charles E. Schumer at the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C., as a delegate of the American Public Health Association (APHA). During the visit, she met with legislative correspondent Alexandra Taveras, to discuss APHA’s 2026 Advocacy Priorities, the impact of federal public health funding cuts on New Yorkers, and upcoming discretionary funding decisions.
