! Congratulations San Francisco Sea Scouts for receiving national recognition from the US Navy. The Sea Scout Ship Viking (Ship 100) of San Francisco, CA, Golden Gate Area Council, has been named the 2023-2024 BoatUS National Flagship based on their outstanding Scouting program. Cal Maritime is proud to partner with SSS Viking of SF for their training programs held on our campus. 🪢⛵️☀️

Commencement 2021 Reminders:
- ONLY TICKETED GUESTS will be permitted to attend the Commissioning and Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 15th. Guests must present their ticket for entrance. Grads will receive their two (2) guest tickets at the mandatory rehearsal on 5/14.
- ALL ATTENDEES (through their graduate) must submit their proof of vaccination or negative COVID test result by 5/12. Link: COVID Vaccine/Negative Test Verification Form
- GUEST SEATING: Seats will be assigned and listed on your guest ticket. Seats are separated by four (4) additional empty chairs creating a 6’ distance from the next guest. Same household guests may sit next to one another but must maintain 6’ distance from other guests.

- COVID REMINDERS: Please do not attend if you have any symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive in the past 2 weeks. Approved facemasks and social distancing are required at all times. Please see the full list reminders at www.csum.edu/commencement.
- VENUE REMINDERS: Please wear FLAT SHOES; NO Food or Drinks on the field (water ok and encouraged); NO DOGS or other PETS ALLOWED (Only legally registered service dogs will be allowed in the venue); NO large bags, strollers or personal chairs; Tickets REQUIRED
- PARKING/SHUTTLES: Parking and shuttles will be available but limited. Main guest parking is Lot O next to the Physical Education and Aquatics Center. Access to the event location will be limited to pedestrians, shuttles, and emergency vehicles only.
- CAMPUS ACCESS will be limited to the event venue and attendees only on May 15th.

We will be joined by our Director of Alumni Relations Theresa Cosgrove, and Committee Chair of Chapter Development Rachel Neuharth ’14. They will be talking about the benefits of connecting with the Alumni Association as a current cadet, and promoting the regional Summer Send-Offs for incoming students at summer’s end.

On June 17th, we celebrated a “virtual” commissioning of eight senior cadets who completed the Strategic Sealift Officers Program (SSOP). Four cadets were able to complete the oath on-board the T/S Golden Bear, while the other four took the oath virtually. The eight cadets were:
