We offer free and low-cost basic and career technical education to adults. We are also an authorized testing site for the HiSET and NCCT exams and many other professional exams.

Meet Scott Collins, your AutoCAD instructor 👋

Scott will be teaching - Fall CAD Night Class
His class is hands-on from the first session. Students learn 2D and 3D drafting by working in AutoCAD rather than watching someone else use it, and nothing assumes you have opened the program before. Students who already know AutoCAD pick up where they left off instead of starting over.

Fall term details:

• September 22 to December 8, Tuesdays from 6 to 9 pm
• 30 hours of coursework, roughly three hours a week for ten weeks
• Come to the Tuesday lab or complete everything online at your own pace — your choice
• $135, covering the $125 session fee and the $10 annual registration fee
• Enrollment includes a free one-year, fully licensed student version of AutoCAD directly from Autodesk
• Textbook required: AutoCAD 2026 Instructor, sold separately
• No class October 27 or November 24

No computer at home? You do not need one. The classroom is fully equipped with computers and wi-fi. If you would rather work from home, AutoCAD runs on both Mac and Windows.

Ventura Adult and Career Education is an Autodesk Authorized Certification Center and a Certiport Authorized Testing Center.

The enrollment deadline for our fall career training programs in healthcare, business/accounting, and technology is quickly approaching — Sept. 22! We’ve got four info sessions left (this week and next week on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.)

We would like you to meet Mariya. 👋

Mariya has been an instructor at VACE for TEN years — and before that she was an office manager and bookkeeper at Ray-Mac, doing this work every single day for a real business.

That is why her students trust her. She is not teaching from a manual. When someone asks what happens when the numbers do not match, or a client pays late, or the month closes wrong, she has lived it. 📚

Ten years in the classroom has also taught her how to spot the moment someone decides they are "just not a numbers person." She has heard it many, many times. She has also watched most of those same people finish the term keeping a full set of books.

We are lucky to have her. 💙

Her QuickBooks Online class meets Wednesday evenings this fall, starting September 16.

It's very rewarding to receive feedback from students like April, who has had a wonderful experience with VACE while receiving career training as a front-office medical billing student. We know our teachers and staff put in 100% to support each student on their journey.
